Incorporated in 1992, the Cement Industry Environmental Consortium (CIEC) undertakes basic research relating to pollution control strategies primarily for the cement industry.
The organization is unique in that regulatory agencies, industries and the State of California are partners in the cooperative effort to reduce negative environmental impacts.
CIEC's mission is to be "a nonprofit corporation for public benefit".
The CIEC is in the process of adding information relating to current projects to our website. Please bear with us as we work to provide you with more details in the future.
As a result of an earlier project however, the CIEC was granted a patent for NOx control using biosolids in December of 1996. The CIEC is continuing its evaluation of additional NOx control technologies for use by the cement and electrical power industries.
