SYNOPSIS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

DAVID LONG has twenty-five years of experience in the environmental field with emphasis evenly distributed in facilities operations, waste recycling, waste and wastewater treatment, disposal operations, and permitting. Areas of expertise include waste minimization, waste treatment/recycling technologies, disposal practices and related environmental/regulatory issues. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Cement Industry Environmental Consortium, where he directs basic research relating to emission reductions form cement manufacture. He also is president of Waste Markets Corporation a waste recycling and brokering firm that he started in 1989. Mr. Long holds 3 patents for recycling of by-product materials and has 4 patent applications currently under review.

He has undertaken a numbered of projects requiring siting of facilities, planning permitting and construction aspects, dealing with waste management, local and state health departments, planning commission and departments, water boards, Integrated Waste Management Board and Federal EPA. He has prepared or assisted in preparation of solid waste management plans, industrial pretreatment ordinances, and solid waste acceptance policies. He has written training programs for land application of biosolids (Health and Safety) and landfill operations.

He has degrees in biology, and is a Registered Environmental Assessor.
